Being reborn in the heavenly realms comes from keeping the precepts. Becoming wealthy comes from keeping the precepts. Attaining liberation and entering Nirvana comes from keeping the precepts. Therefore, I wish to receive and keep the complete Eight Precepts as taught by the Buddha, to practice them purely throughout this day and night, cultivating wholesome seeds to realize Nirvana in the future. Now I will follow the Path that has been walked by all the Buddhas and the great noble disciples. A lazy person cannot walk this Path. May my determination prevail! May I succeed in all things! To develop and master the mind, I must make effort whenever I see what needs to be done. Why not do it right now? The Path has been clearly taught. May what I gain bring happiness to myself and all beings! The mind brings all happiness and all suffering. To overcome suffering, I now enter the Path of Right Mindfulness. May what I gain bring happiness to myself and all beings! Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu, well done!
